How do you celebrate St. Patrick’s Day?

Do you think a leprechaun would ever wear this?

Being that my mom is 100% of Irish decent, each year I celebrate St. Patricks day to it’s fullest.  Last year it was the parade through London, UK and this year I found myself making my way through a sea of green in Syracuse, NY.

Walking around, draped in green from head to toe, beer in hand I spent the last Saturday hoping from bar to bar in Armory Square enjoying the celebrations with the rest of ‘Cuse.

Although I loved the fact that I could drink openly in public and the beer at the Blue Tusk was delicious, I would have to say I don’t fully understand the ridiculousness of how we, as American’s, celebrate the holiday.  Why the oversized leprechaun hats and clover tattoos?  Why the excessive drinking in the name of St. Patrick?

Don’t get me wrong, I love St. Patrick’s day and will continue to celebrate it in all its green glory, but while you are painting your face green and pinning that green tiara to your head I would love to know what you really think of this holiday and the way in which we celebrate it….

Also if you have your own St. Patty’s Day Pic please send it to bridgetjoystreeter@gmail.com!
