Wikipedia is not legitimate

Hands down, not even really a question, Wikipedia is not a legitimate source to reference professional work from.

Sure, it can be a great starting point for research and there are many things Wiki does get right…the definition of a circle and the color blue seem pretty good to me… But that fact alone that anyone can edit and/or contribute to each excerpt strips away its reliability.

Most people who write probably do know what they are talking about (I tried to look for something wrong in the following things: Teresa, cracker, and sadness).  You are probably viewing accurate information, but since it is something you know nothing about how do you know whoever wrote the Wiki article does.

It may seem overdramatic to strip away Wikipedias legitimacy based solely on the reason above, but it has been my experience that more people know less of what they are talking about.
