Julia Xanthos came into my photo class on Monday. She is a UA alumni and former head of the Torch. As a student she was interested in photography and journalism and through a lot of hard work she is a professional photojournalist today. Xanthos’s inspiring images have landed her a job at the Daily News in NYC. In my class she talked about the importance of doing things outside of classwork that brought her to where she is today. After listening to her I am motivated to continue working on getting my photos and stories published and better understand the importance of internships in the journalism world. Here are some of her images. What do you think?
